A look at a group of friends coming of age during their senior year of high school in urban America. One night Nikki and Emma have a heart-to-heart about how much they’ll miss next year of college, but the next day Nikki doesn’t show up for school: she’s committed suicide. The friends steal Nikki’s diary and record.
